Is everyone starting to sound the same.. πŸ˜₯

Hiiiii Reader πŸ‘‹πŸ»

Is it just me... or is everyone starting to sound the same 😐

A lot of my favourite creators and favourite newsletters are melting into a generic-sounding "voice". And it's because of AI content 😬

AI can sound "like you", but it doesn't necessarily feel like you. It uses characteristic phrases and sentence structures that I'm getting really bored of reading.

ChatGPT is great. As someone who is easily stressed and struggles with planning and decision-making, it's so useful for organising my work + ideas.

But it concerns me because I feel like I'm no longer reading people's honest, unfiltered thoughts.

Sure, the AI content probably expresses the information the author wanted to share. It's just been polished and tidied to look all neat and stuff.

But maybe... the "point" of content is not always to express information in a neat and polished way?

Aren't we trying to build human-to-human connections with an audience so they can benefit from our work?

You are the one who has the same lived experience as them. Feeling the same passion they have, feeling the thing they're struggling with, knowing what they need to hear.

If you can put that into words, that's how people will know they were MEANT to connect with you.

You can certainly use AI content to help with that. But please don't let it water you down and make you sound dull and unoriginal πŸ˜₯

Use your own phrases, figures of speech, slang words, swear words!! Make it yours!!

(That also doesn't mean you have to be good at writing or have a magic way with words. One of my favourite creators - Creative Hackers - successfully grew his audience of several thousand as a dyslexic writer before he ever started using AI-assisted content!)

What I'm doing...

I'm making a little series on TikTok about building self-confidence :) I was going to make a video every day but realised that's insane for my current energy so now it's a sporadic series πŸ˜†

πŸ’

What I'm thinking about...

I actually just wanted to say that if you are feeling extra anxious, extra tired, extra 🫠 right now, you aren't alone! It's not your fault. The environment around the world is crazy lately. 🫢🏻

✏️

What I'm recommending...

One of my fav creators, Ruth Poundwhite, has a really great course called Connected Content*. It's all about making content that's true to yourself and deeply connected with the right people. AI can't do that!

Happy Tuesday Reader, I did it!! I put together my 3 new Content Repurposing offer packages. I spent a lot of time at the end of last year thinking about how to make content creation easier for creatives. The biggest thing I focused on was "repurposing" β€” i.e. using the same content multiple times. These offers are aimed at creative business owners who've already made great content, but are now burned out and stuck. Sure, creatives can repurpose their own content, and it'll be wayyyyyyy...

Happy New Year Reader! πŸŽ‰ I hope things are going well for you. I feel like people are being crazier than usual with the January challenges and discipline obsession 🀨 (have you noticed this too? Don't let 'em get to ya.) If you asked me how I spent 2025, I'd probably say something like: "learning how to support myself" or "learning how to work in my own way" which both sound SO vague and wishy-washy. What do these things mean!!! I'm gonna tell you about what they mean for me. 🎢 But before I do...

How's it going Reader? This week for me marks 3 years of daily meditation practice. It's the only "daily streak" I keep, and I'm very proud of this commitment. To me, it represents a commitment purely to myself and my own peace. I don't like to talk about meditation as some kind of "stress management hack" that will then help you "focus better at work". Though it does reduce stress, my own practice is a spiritual one. It doesn't exist to just be a productivity hack. It doesn't exist to solve...
