2025 has been weird 🤔

Hiiiii Reader!

How are you doing?

Everyone's saying 2025 has been hard/weird/unpredictable.

And they're not wrong 🫠

It's been chaotic. There's a lot going on.

Though I'm feeling quietly pleased with myself because I've got more done lately than for a long time. (Sorry if you haven't. I'm bragging.)

This year has pushed me to lock tf in and Systemise. Everything.

I previously avoided productivity systems like this because I didn't understand how I worked.

Planners, calendars, trackers, etc.

They never fit me.

It was much more effort to use them compared to the reward they're supposed to provide.

I'd give up immediately.

But having made more progress on the "understand yourself" front, this year I'm trying again 😁

It felt like the right time to bring some clarity and efficiency to how I work.

Here are some systems I've built recently. I hope you can take some inspiration from them?

Content Hub

I've never liked content calendars or "batching content".

I mostly post things at random/last minute.

This Notion database is my attempt to create a system.

It has one main goal:

To remind me to use ideas AT LEAST 3 TIMES.

One idea = at least 3 pieces of content. This saves so much energy.

The database lets me stick an idea in the top part, then below I can add multiple pieces that link back to it.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆ 3/5

It's okay. I hoped it would inspire me to post more but it hasn't 😆

I also need to add an easier way to capture ideas when I have them.

Outreach Tracker

One of the scary parts of freelancing is that you have to face the cringe.... and go network with people 😩

This Notion database helps me track who I've talked to on LinkedIn.

I can add labels to people I want to send a DM to.

I can see who I haven't talked to in a while, and then go comment on their recent posts.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ 4/5

It's not COMPLETELY perfect.

I think it could do better when paired with a system for starting conversations, e.g. "message X number of new people per week".

But without this I probably would have forgotten about every person on there 😂

Weekly Planner

My wonderful business coach Dan suggested using a physical task tracker, with a combo of:

  • sticky notes
  • coloured categories (e.g. client work, admin, personal)
  • the Eisenhower matrix (to sort tasks by urgency and importance)

And this is what I came up with.

I can add and prioritise tasks in the grid on the left.

Them schedule them into the week on the right.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5

This is the one.

I get a sense of novelty from writing down tasks and sticking them in.

The bright colours make it FUN.

It's a very obvious visual cue if I've stuffed loads of different colours into one day that... it's not gonna work.

And there's something... better about physically organising things on paper, rather than a screen.

If you are doing some kind of restructuring like this too, I hope it's going well!

Much love,

Damon

How's it going Reader? I thought I'd do a little end-of-the-month review with you so we can discuss what's working or not working 🤔 Sound good? You're welcome to reply and tell me about what you've been up to! This month my theme was taking action + celebrating it as much as possible. A few months ago, I wouldn’t have had the capacity to: start selling consistently, show up on social media again, create new resources, or make decisions about pricing. It took time, patience, practice, and...

Hey Reader, I had a BEAUTIFUL burst of inspiration on Wednesday 😍 You know when you go to put some small tweaks on a bit of work... but then something clicks and you're like OH F*** YEAH and you spend the day redesigning the whole thing. This is what happened with my free content repurposing guide. I decided to watch Lizzy Goddard's "Clicks Don't Lie*" training. (*affiliate link. Plsss get this if you are offering freebies or digital products it is genuinely ENLIGHTENING!) I went to tweak my...

Pre.S. I'm going to be sending more emails about these new content repurposing offers over the next few weeks. Know you're not interested? Just click here and you won't get them, but you'll still get my regular newsletter :) Hey Reader, There’s a fun kind of exhaustion that comes from trying to make content when you’re already burned out 😑 As a creative, you care A LOT about your work. You have plenty of ideas. But every time you sit down to write content that SHARES your work, you overthink....
